Transparent photovoltaic technology

Invisible energy? Vitsolc‘s technology employs organic materials that transmit visible light while converting to electricity the infrared light that the human eye cannot see. The result is a solar panel that is transparent to our sight. 

Vitsolc’s photovoltaic technology can be installed and provide electrical energy where conventional silicon solar panels cannot. Transparent photovoltaic modules can be seamlessly integrated in a wide range of applications and products where transparency is a must. 

How does it work?

Vitsolc uses organic semiconductor materials with tailored absorption spectra as active media for energy conversion. These materials are based on earth-abundant elements, are non-hazardous and can be incorporated into the solar cell structure by standard industrial coating processes, enabling the scaling-up for different applications. 

The active photo-voltaic layer is embedded within the other components of the device, which we engineer to enhance transparency and maximize electrical power generation
