Our Story:
Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of ICFO, a leading research institute in photonics. Vitsolc emerged as a response to the critical need for sustainable and transparent energy solutions. With a passionate team of visionaries, engineers, and sustainability enthusiasts, we set out to create not just transparent solar panels but real technological solutions that integrate with the world around us.
Oscar Aceves
President
Oscar (he/him) is an engineer co-founder of several photovoltaic companies and one of the pioneers in building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). He founded Vitsolc with the objective of providing transparent photovoltaic solutions for a more sustainable architecture.
Sílvia Carrasco
ICFO KTT
Silvia (PhD, MBA, she/her) serves as Knowledge and Technology Transfer Director at ICFO and as ICFO’s representative in the Board of Directors of several spin-off companies, including Vitsolc. She was the recipient of the Fem Talent Award for emerging talent of Barcelona Tech and the Economy and Innovation Castelldefels City Award.
Sergi Cuesta
CTO
Sergi (PhD, he/him) is an engineer, with hands-on experience in the design, optical and structural characterization, and fabrication of novel semiconductor opto-electronic devices. At Vitsolc, he is in charge of R&D technological innovation, device fabrication and project and team coordination.
Ilario Gelmetti
R&D Engineering Manager
Ilario (PhD, he/him) worked on synthesis of polymers for organic solar cells, fabrication, advanced characterization and numerical simulation of perovskite solar cells, heterogeneous catalysis for solar fuels and hydrogen production. At Vitsolc, he is in charge of product validation and projects’ management.
Yatzil Avalos
R&D Engineering Manager
Yatzil (PhD, she/her). Worked on the fabrication and characterization of organic solar cells and organic transistors with strong focus on materials and device stability. At Vitsolc she is in charge of R&D technological innovation in device fabrication and stability and projects management.
Pavlo Perkhun
R&D Engineering Manager
Pavlo (PhD, he/him) is a process engineer in the field of large-area solution deposition such as slot-die coating and inkjet printing, organic solar cell fabrication, upscaling and characterization, optical, electrical, and morphological characterization of semiconductors and optoelectronic devices. At Vitsolc, he is in charge of research and development of the upscaling deposition of the technology, industrialization of the product.
